So what’s the point? We answer that question as we study 12 parables of Jesus.
Like mystery novels, parables contain something secret and exciting. We read them searching for clues that will unravel the mystery. But instead of wondering who did it, we wonder “what’s the point.” Instead of discovering it was the butler all along, we discover a truth that will enrich our lives and deepen our faith.
Jesus designed the parables to make us think and elicit a response. Though simple, direct stories, parables often leave us full of questions.
- What did the foolish virgins do that was so foolish?
- Why shouldn’t the workers in a vineyard get paid according to their labor?
- What did the slave who safely invested his single talent do wrong?
- Why was the unforgiving servant punished so harshly?
We’ll answer these questions and more. We will concentrate our search in small group discussion and fellowship with a teaching by Krisan Marotta.
Come join us as we find treasures in parables.
