These pages contain links to maps, background information, charts, overviews, introductions, encyclopedias and key words to help you do your own inductive study!  I hope you find them useful.  On the podcast, I plan teach through 1Corinthians 8, take a break and return to 1Corinthians. 10 1Corinthians 3:10-17 Rewards in heaven

1Corinthians 3:10-17 is frequently cited as one of the places that Scripture teaches believers will receive various rewards or crowns in heaven. The context indicates otherwise.  Paul is issuing a warning to leaders in the church.

Rewards in Heaven 2 (Various Passages)

Having argued that 1Corinthians 3 does not teach rewards in heaven, we examine some of the other passages used to build that doctrine. This podcast answers the question: “In what sense will believers be judged according to their works?”

11 1Corinthians 3:18-4:16 Be foolish to the world

Paul concludes the first major section of this letter by urging them to repent and imitate him in following Christ and looking foolish to the world.

12 1Corinthians 4:17-5:5 Ignoring immorality

Paul confronts the Corinthian church about their attitude toward a man having an affair with his stepmother.  We’ll look at what Paul teaches about how the local church should treat sinners in their midst, and how to avoid 2 main mistakes.
